Leigh Bandy was born and raised in Tennessee. As a Military Spouse she began working in the mental health field throughout her husband’s Army career. She started her career in Army Family Programs as a Family Readiness Specialist from 2003-2012. During that time, she earned two bachelor's degrees, one in Criminal Justice Administration and another in Paralegal Studies. She has a passion assisting for Veterans and their families for the challenges they face as a result of military service. Following her husband’s discharge she attended law school. Leigh cemented that dedication by working for the Dept of Veteran Affairs from 2016-2020 as a Legal Administrative Specialist.

In 2020 she discovered that she loved law school but hated the profession. She changed jobs and began working as an intensive case manager for Centerstone for two years. She decided to obtain her master’s degree in social work to be a licensed therapist. She attended Austin Peay University and obtained her Master’s degree in 2023, obtaining her license in September of 2023.

Leigh has worked in a residential mental health setting ever since. She came to Magnolia Meadows in December 2024 as her heart has always been in working with First Responders and Veterans. Leigh uses several treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), among others.

Outside of her work, Leigh is an avid traveler with an adventurer’s heart. She is always into some form of art and is pretty certain she was meant to be a mermaid as she loves any activity in the water. Leigh is dedicated to serving those who have given so much in the service of others and assisting them with learning how to heal themselves so they can live a life that they love again.
