Treatment may be needed when symptoms begin interfering with daily life, work, or relationships. Drinking may need to be addressed when it begins to impact daily life, work, or health. Early support can make change easier and more effective .

EMDR accelerates treatment by helping the brain process unresolved trauma more efficiently. By targeting how distressing memories are stored, EMDR reduces emotional intensity faster than talk therapy alone, allowing symptom relief and functional improvement in fewer session.
Can I come to treatment if I am no longer a first responder or serving in the military?? +
Yes. Active service is not required to come to treatment. Our center is intentionally designed to support former first responders and military members, often long after their years of service have ended. We recognize that the impact of service doesn't stop when a career ends; in many cases, challenges surface or intensify years later. Whether you are retired, medically discharged, dishonorably, transitioned into civilian life, or have been out of service for decades, you remain eligible. Our exclusive environment exists specifically to care for those who have already served and are now ready to focus on their own healing..
Can I come to GRIT if I was dishonorably discharged?? +
Yes. A dishonorable discharge does not automatically disqualify you from treatment. Our focus is not on discharge status, rank, or how someone left service. Our mission is to support individuals who have served in high‑stress, service‑oriented roles and are now dealing with the long‑term impact of that experience, often years or decades later..
How quickly can I admit?? +
Admissions can move very quickly. In many cases, same‑day or next‑day admission is possible, depending on completing the necessary screening steps. Our team is experienced in working with individuals who are ready to come in when the need is urgent, and we prioritize making the process smooth and discreet..
